MIZORAM BAR ASSOCIATION (MBA)
HISTORY AND EXISTENCE
The constitution of Mizoram Bar Association (MBA) came
into force with effect from 31.8.1984 when it was
adopted by the General Body meeting held on 31.8.1984.
It was therefore existed in 1984 and was registered in
the Registrar of Firms & Societies, Govt. of Mizoram
under Registration No. 19 of 1984.
NATURE
OF FUNCTIONS:
The association is governed by the Constitution as
amended on 10.11.2005 when approval of the proposed
Amendment by the General Body meeting. The Mizoram Bar
Association Welfare Fund & Monthly Fund Rules, 2006 also
chalked out with effective from 17.3.2006. Both the
‘Constitution’ and the ‘Mizoram Bar Association Welfare
Fund & Monthly Fund Rules, 2006’ governs the functioning
of the Association within the ambit of the ‘Advocates
Act, 1961’ and the provisions of the ‘Gauhati High Court
(Conditions of Practise of Advocates) Rules, 2010’.
